A game ball is one of the oldest traditions in sports, and it is still one of the best. But a ball is a curved, seamed, sometimes textured surface, which makes it one of the trickier things to engrave well. Done right, it becomes a keepsake someone keeps on a shelf for decades. Done wrong, it is a smudge. Here is how we approach it.
The surface is the challenge
A baseball has stitching, a basketball has pebbling, a football has laces and panels. Each surface takes the laser differently, and the engraving has to be placed and paced to stay crisp across the curve. It is not a flat plaque, so it does not get treated like one.
Placement is everything
On a round object you have a limited zone that reads clean. We plan the layout around that sweet spot so the name, date, and final score sit centered and sharp instead of wrapping awkwardly around a seam. Where it goes matters as much as what it says.
